SJB: Aiming to Educate
The Student Judicial Board (SJB) is the judicial branch of the Student Government Association (SGA) and is advised by the Dean of Students office. When students have been charged with allegedly violating the Student Code of Conduct, they have the option to choose the SJB as their resolution route. Each conduct hearing consists of three student justices. All justices on the Student Judicial Board receive annual training on adjudicating conduct cases. In addition, the SJB aims to educate students about their rights and responsibilities through workshops and tabling events. The SJB has been in existence on Georgia State University’s campus for over 20 years and continues to attract students who want to make a significant change on campus. From aspiring attorneys, doctors, politicians, etc., the student justices use the transferable skills obtained on the SJB to be successful in life. Applications are now available for SJB's annual recruitment of new members. More information about the SJB can be found here.
